We've Been Chosen America's Finest Optical Retailer
When we began thinking about Independent Optical, we envisioned it as an alternative to the “same thing everywhere” world of eyewear. Our goal was to create a place that people would enjoy visiting while offering an opportunity for them to compare eyewear made by people instead of machines. As we were very warmly received, this reinforced our commitment to being the best place in town to buy glasses and get eye care. We had no idea that four years later we would be compared to the top optical galleries in the world.
Being selected for the America’s Finest Optical Retailer is exceptionally gratifying. Being held in this regard by our peers and by industry insiders is a true honor. But it’s also a validation of our ideas and our commitment.
The America’s Finest Optical Retailer award is sponsored by INVISION Magazine, the industry’s go-to trade journal for the retail optical world. Their editors, along with a selection of industry executive evaluate retailers from across the country. They base their selection of recipients on a broad range of criteria that includes our galley, the products we offer and our approach to serving the local consumer. At Independent Optical, we look at every thing, every day and ask “can we make this better?”. We are constantly searching for hidden gems- those eyeglasses with exceptional design and meticulous quality that we can add to our family.
We also look to refining the way we deliver vision care services. We have found that the number one patient complaint about physician visits is that there wasn’t enough time to ensure that patient questions weren’t answered, or not sufficiently. We pride ourselves on making sure our patient knows exactly what’s going on, why, and what they can expect. That takes as long as it takes. Everyone here is treated like family, because for us, you are a part of our family.
We would also like to extend our congratulations to Uber Vision in California and Eyes on Trade in North Carolina, our fellow recipients of this recognition. With more than 45,000 places where people can purchase eyeglasses in North America, this award placing at the top of this industry is exceptionally gratifying. And we were only able to accomplish this because of our amazing customers- our Independent Optical family!
